1. Ida Bubenicek is shown arriving in New York 27 May 1927 as a US Citizen on board the ship President Roosevelt from Bremen, Germany. She was age 15 and traveling alone. [759]

2. When Ida was 13, (1924) her Mother (Karoline) and her Grandmother died within four days of each other. Ida went to live with other relatives in and around Vienna. Two years later, (1926), Ida traveled alone by ship to America. At that time she did not speak English. Her Father, whom she had never met before, and his new wife, (Betty) met her at Ellis Island. Betty had two daughters from a previous marriage. [61]
