John Thomas “Jack” WAKENSHAW
A photo of what used to be the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. This is where John was found in the 1900 US Census as a patient along with 9 others (mostly miners, loggers, and railroad men). This photo was sent to me by Bob Wakenshaw who visited this house in June 2002. Bob made note of the big rock in the front yard, suggesting it was like the big rock Thomas Wakenshaw sat on to rest when he died in the blizzard in 1905. It seems big rocks play a part in this family some strange way.
