Note: Newton & Lucy are listed on the back of this photo as “grandparents”, but they are actually the “parents” of most of the others in the picture. Norma Ivey wrote the names on the back for the benefit of the grandchildren of Newton & Lucy. This house is located at 241 Sylvan St. in Virginia, Illinois, and was left to Newton’s two grandsons, Frederick Dareld and Elmer Earl Ivey. Elmer sold his share of the house to Dareld, who lived there the rest of his life. Norma Ivey (Dareld’s wife) continued to live in this house after Dareld’s death until last year (2000).
