1. Obituary from the Decatur Daily Review, Decatur, Ill., 19 Aug 1927 [source: Toni Nash]:“Mrs. Doris Irene Green, 325 North Fifth Street, died at 5:15 o’clock Friday morning at Decatur Macon County Hospital. She was twenty-five years old last July. Her death was caused by a complication of diseases after an illness of four months. Mrs. Green was born in Alberta, Canada, 11 July 1902. She came with her parents to Decatur in 1919, later moving to Detroit. Five years ago the family moved back to Decatur and this has been her home ever since. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She leaves her husband, John M. Green, and four children: Edward, Fredrick, Robert and Mary Evelyn Green. She also leaves her mother, Mrs. Jane Nash of Decatur, and the following brothers and sisters: Florence, Vivian, Fred, Arthur, Edward and Peter Nash, all of Decatur, and Mrs. Emily McPherson and Mrs. Nellie Horton of Canada. The body was taken to Moran & Sons, funeral directors, and prepared for burial”
