1. Obituary from the Greensburg Record Herald: [127]“James R. Sanders, 81, Commonweatlh's attorney for Green, Taylor, Marion and Washington Counties from 1922 until early this year died Monday (1946) at his home in Campbellsville of a heart ailment. Sanders has spent more than 50 years in the practice of law, most of them in Taylor Co. His first public office was that of Campbellsville city attorney, to which he was elected in 1896. Fourteen years later he was elected Taylor Co. Attorney, and 4 years later he became an assistant in the Office of Internal Revenue in Louisville, where he remained until be became Commonwealth's attorney. Prior to practicing law, he had taught for 12 years in the high school at Hardyville, and Pike college, Bowling Green, MO. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Minnie Graves Sanders, and 2 daughters, Mrs. Ellen Lyon Fayette and Mrs. Elizabeth Sanders Collision, both of Campbellsville. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternnon in the Campbellsville Presbyterian Church.”
