1. “Dr. Kerr was assistant surgeon of the 59th Ill. Inf., appointed Feb. 18, 1865 was promoted to Major Surgeon of the l0th Ill. Cav., Oct 23, 1865. That regiment was mustered out in November, when he returned to the 59th, and was mustered out with it, at Springfield, in January, 1866. He is now a practicing physician in Pawnee, Sangamon, county, Illinois- 1876.” [139]
