Misc. Notes
1. Served in Company A, 10th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry during the Civil War, and was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic. He came to Logan Co., Illinois shortly after the war. For a number of years he ran a saw mill on Sugar Creek near Altic Chapel. After he retired he went to the Old Soldier’s Home at Quincy, Illinois. In 1910, when his brother, former Alderman Andrew Comstock, became seriously ill, he came to Lincoln. Since then he has made his home with his granddaughter, Mrs. Zimmerman.
