1. From the obituary in the Napa Register, 4 June 1993: Virginia Feeney, 89, died in St Helena, California on Tuesday, June1, 1993. She was born on December 7, 1903 to John and Helen Braunwalder in Chicago, Illinois, where she was raised and educated. Her family moved to Birmingham, Alabama, and then to the Los Angeles area in the 1920's. She married John Robert Feeney, MD, DDS in Ventura in 1929 and they lived in Glendale, Newport and Laguna Beach before moving to St. Helena in 1972. Dr. Feeney passed away on Dec. 2, 1988. Virginia worked in Los Angeles for the Western Costume Co. and W.J.Sloane Co. as an artist and also on her own. She was a member of the St. Helena Garden Club and Wine Country Artists. Virginia is survived by 3 daughters; Marilyn Russo of Salt Lake City, Utah, Pat Chandler of Napa, California and Louise of Seattle, Washington, sister Louise Siler of Lake Almanor, Calif, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceeded by a sister, Phyllis Ells of San Francisco. At the request of the family, no service will be held. Private interment will be at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Anna. Arrnagements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Chapel, St. Helena.
