1. The meaning of the name Storrar:
“Storrar could mean Convent Treasurer. Stourer - one in charge of flocks and herds. The tenant of a Scottish sheep farmer was called a store master. Definition of the Scottish word Stour is "dust in motion". STOURIR FIT in the town of Falkland, means a stranger, an incomer who arrives on foot and "stours the dust", and last a Stourer is a person who keeps something in store.” [422]

1. From Maggie Northcott of New Zealand, who explains the reason for two dates listed as Marrage dates:
“Although I put it as Marriage, the dates were really Banns I guess. One of whoever stayed in Falkland, and the other in Errol. Scottish OPRs [Old Parish Records] very often had Proclamations [Banns] mentioned more than Marriages. Banns are really the same thing and have to be “read” three times in church on Sunday to give folk who want to object, time to do so. Banns are the declaration that the two people mentioned will marry. That’s where I got the following, ‘Proclamation of Marriage 24 Jan 1802, Falkland, Henry Storrar, Ploughman, and Emilia Birrell, parishioners of Falkland, gave in their names in order to marriage. This proclamation was stopped, but afterwards went on.’ That is all there was, does not say why it was stopped and by whom.”
