RED LODGE — Margaret “Peggy” Bailey, 82, of Red Lodge, died early Friday morning, Feb. 19, 2010, at Beartooth Hospital, due to complications of diabetes. She was born on April 10, 1927 in Bearcreek, a daughter of Leo and Jean Normile. Peggy was raised and attended school in Red Lodge, graduating from Carbon County High School in 1945. On Aug. 4, 1945, she married Thomas D. Bailey in Red Lodge. For several years, she was employed at Natali’s Café. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Elizabeth Gerhardt and Mary Gerhardt; one brother, James Normile; her son, Tommy Bailey; and a grandson, Rob Whittmyer. Survivors include her husband, Thomas D. Bailey of Red Lodge; one daughter, Jean (Don) Dunning of Bridger; two brothers, Mickey Normile of Columbia Falls and Bill Normile of Missoula; a sister-in-law, Elsie Normile of Red Lodge; three grandchildren, Mark Whittmyer, Tammy Bailey Strong and Tom R. Bailey; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Interment of the urn will follow in the Red Lodge Cemetery. Smith-Olcott Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to the charity of one’s choice.
