1. Noie Sweeney belonged to the Woodsmen, so his tombstone is in the shape of a tree trunk with a few short branches sticking out. It’s about 8 feet tall and is in the Salem Cemetery next to the Salem Church. Salem Church was built in 1891 on Sanders land. [288]

2. I found an old photo of two children standing next to this gravestone. I must assume they are Noie Sweeney’s children, Richard and Opal Gladys Sweeney. Judging by the ages of the children, and using the birthdates I have for them, I have concluded that the photo must have taken about 1926 or so.
