Misc. Notes
1. In the 1910 US Census, Queen Ivey is shown as widow, with two children, Hazel B. (age 3), and Clarence D. (age 5 mo.). Queen Ivey is living with James & Josephine McNutt. This does not make sense, because Jesse Marion Ivey didn’t die until 1965. Why does she show up with him in the next two censuses (1920 & 1930)?? Also, the 1910 census shows that James McNutt was married twice and Josephine 3 times. Queen Ivey’s father is listed as born in Mississippi, but James McNutt was born in Arkansas. Queen’s mother’s birthplace matches Josephine’s. I suggest that Josephine is Queen Ivey’s mother and James McNutt is her step father. This would explain the surname HAMMOCK. Josephine was possibly married to a HAMMOCK when Queen was born. Speculation on my part until I prove it otherwise.
