“Dennie Howell Fink, age 61 of Versailles, Illinois, passed away at 3:36 p.m. Tuesday, Feb 22, 2011 at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville, Illinois. He was born Aug 6, 1949 in Jacksonville, Illinois, the son of Denver Alden and Lula Mary Fink. He married Linda Howell on Feb 1 1969 in Mt. Sterling and he later married Barbara Hubinek on July 11, 1998 in Versailles, Illinois and she survives. Mr. Fink was a correctional officer at the Western Illinois Correctional Center in Mt. Sterling, retiring in 2008. He also worked for Capitol Records in Jacksonville, Illinois from 1967 until 1989. Mr. Fink graduated from Brown County High School with the class of 1967. Dennie was an avid gear head who loved attending antique car shows and especially enjoyed collecting model cars. He was known to have wonderful artistic abilities and always loved painting and drawing. Dennie also enjoyed listening to music and collecting records.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Fink, his mother, Lula Mary Fink of Mt. Sterling, 5 children, Sean (Tammy) Fink of Chatham, Denise (Greg) Garnett of Springfield, Joshua Fink of Franklin, Jeremy (Mandy) Fink of Mt. Sterling and Jacob Fink of Versailles. 2 Step children, Lindsay Baker and Jessica Baker-Twarski, both of Warrenville, 7 grandchildren, Seth and Caleb Fink, Drew and Adrianne Garnett, Wyatt and Jayden Fink and Kendra Baker, 1 brother, Ossie Fink of McDonough, GA, 1 sister, Wendy Harvey of Jamestown, NY also survives along with several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and 1 sister, Kathy Godsave.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb 26, 2011 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Pastor Charla Meyers officiating. Burial will be in the Versailles West Side Cemetery.”
