1. The family and church records do not mention the marriage or death of the two youngest daughters, Hannah and Mary. Miss Julia S. White, librarian at Guilford College Library, at New Garden, writes, in answer to a letter of inquiry about them, the following:
“The women’s minutes of the Friends Meeting at New Garden prior to 1790 were destroyed by fire, and I am sorry not to be able to link your chain, which no doubt is a correct one. But it seems that the fact that we have no women’s minutes for that date will make it impossible to determine.” [48]
